Presenting My Progress on No Man's Land - A Witcher Series

Today was the day we got to present the progress that each of our groups/individuals have made on our pre-production projects several just over a month following our original greenlight pitches to the rest of the class. The format for this presentation was essentially the same however I felt that the pitch went a lot smoother this time round - not only was I much more confident during my presentation itself, but I definitely felt a much better sense of understanding from my fellow classmates as well as Simon. One of my concerns when I was originally conceptualising 'No Man's Land - A Witcher Series' was the risk of it coming across as overly-ambitious and somewhat overwhelming, however I am proud to be able to say that I seem to have threaded the needle successfully and have attempted to accurately convey the premise and intentions that I have in mind for this series.

You can read through each of the slides of this progress presentation below, I found myself creating a slightly shorter presentation than the greenlight pitch at 7 slides, yet I did include a 90 second clip from True Detective's Season 1 opening sequence which padded out the presentation nicely and provided a convenient break in between talking for the class members to take in what I had already said, as well as enjoy the piece itself.

The feedback I got from this session wasn't as valuable as the feedback I got from the pitch presentation itself, however I did find worth in several of the comments made by Simon and others like Gavin & George Lock. Some of the key points were that the planning is clearly complex and has a lot of thought that has gone into it and ensuring I maintain that focus on the vision I have for the opening sequence. Simon also mentioned that this was presented much more professionally than the greenlight pitch, wherein which I spent an undesirable amount of time reading directly from the board rather than addressing the audience themselves - this was something that I was looking to improve upon during this presentation and appear to have done so.
