Evaluating Where I'm At
Today was important as not only was I heading into the studios for a progress meeting with unit leader, Helen - I have also spoken with George Nicholls who was part of our group for both my documentary and TV News units, and he has very kindly agreed to lend me his Canon 100D for use at the match on Saturday. It is not an understatement when I say that without this, I likely wouldn't have been able to film much at all, or at least not to a professional degree of quality.
As for the meeting with Helen, it actually went a lot smoother than I expected. Initially I was nervous as to what she would say in the face of my situation, given that I had nothing tangible to present beyond some email conversations between me and Bruce and some minor exterior footage I had shot earlier in the week. Fortunately she comforted me and walked me through a step by step process to ascertain what it is I need in terms of both my report and my video piece, and how to go about producing them in time to satisfy our deadline in 7 days time. Also, she gave me some much needed guidance and resources regarding how to tackle Harvard referencing in a manner that is academically appropriate.
