Adapting A Photoshoot For Social Media 

As part of my role within the social media department, as well as the promotion department I have taken some of the photos I picked up off of Danny earlier in the week in order to adapt their aspect ratio and perform minor colour correction. This is so that they can be uploaded to the official Steal the Style instagram page.

One of the main effects I implemented during this process was a black and white filter over the background of each of the images. This results in a stylistic effect that can end up looking rather professional when given the necessary attention, usually in the form of precise feathering and accurate masking.


Feathering is important, especially on more intricate details such as hair and clothing fibres, allowing the user to soften the edges of any given layer in order to address inconsistencies within your mask. (Pictured below)


I am happy with the effect overall, I find it to be a simple, yet striking filter to apply to any imagery, but it works particularly well when you have a subject in frame, modelling for example. Here you can view some more of the edits I have done:
