Contextual Research | Storyboarding and Casting Decisions

My storyboarding was one of the first steps towards getting an idea as to what my trailer was going to look like, I wanted to create something subtle, yet atmospheric. Therefore it involved a lot of close up and extreme close up shots, with a few wide angle establishing shots.

Casting Decisions

The only character in my short film that is actually displayed on screen is Beth, portrayed by fellow TV production student Aimee Kerr. (Pictured Right) I chose her for a number of reasons, first and foremost I thought she fit the role of Beth the most. She was able to portray a wide range of emotions; happiness, sadness, confusion and anger. Also for this particular task we were not required to cast outside of the classroom. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
