TV News Unit | Complete Equipment List, Filming Permission & Final Planning

Required Equipment Per Day Listed

One of the things that was required going into shoot week in order to demonstrate appropriate planning was to have a complete equipment usage list detailing each day's shooting activities. This can be found below;

Risk Assessment

In order to be able to take the kit out for the allotted time that we had booked, we are required to fill out a risk assessment form and get it signed off by our unit leader Helen, this can be seen below;

Planning for Friday's Studio Shooting

Friday will be our last designated shoot day and has required us to plan ahead in order to have the necessary equipment and space to film in come shoot time, this includes booking out a room for use in the studios as well as a green-screen from the kit room. Originally we had an issue where fellow course member Gavin had booked out the only green-screen during this time, however upon contacting him he informed us that he would be cancelling his booking after acquiring his own green-screen. I have emailed Fergus in order to acquire that booking slot in advance.

Getting Filming Permission from the Kent Film Office

Getting filming permission from The Kent Film Office is important for being able to film in the specific road areas around Maidstone, e.g. Pilgrim's Way and Water Lane. Andrew contacted the office and handled the paperwork for getting permission to film in the specific areas. This can be seen as below;
